Happy New Year’s Eve and eventual day to everyone!
The boss gave the go-ahead for us to head out for the day so I’m back in the kitchen whipping up a New Year’s Eve feast for some close friends.
On the menu lobster mac n cheese, garlic and herb crusted pork loin and an Italian tossed salad (recipes to come on the blog!).
I told friends the dress code is comfortable! Sweat pants and pajamas are highly encouraged. I want this to be fun and relaxing for everyone.
Just good friends, food and drinks and plenty of games while the New Year’s Eve telecast blares in the background.
For those of you cooking up your own feast or bringing something delicious to, I listed a couple quick appetizers that are easy and delicious.
Whether you are staying in or heading out, have a safe and fun New Year!
(Buy canned roasted red pepper, aged provolone cheese, put together an array of olives from the olive bar at your grocery store. Slice up some Genoa salami or other charcuterie and arrange on a platter with either sliced up ciabatta or other bread)
Gorgonzola Crostinis with Honey Drizzle
(Cover a cookie sheet with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray. Slice up a baguette into crostini slices and place on cooking sheet. Touch the top of each slice with just a touch of olive oil and toast under a high broiler (oven door open) until bread is crunchy (about two minutes). Keep oven on and take out the crostinis and top each with a small spoon of gorgonzola cheese, then back in for another minute to melt the cheese. Take out and drizzle each slice with a touch of fresh honey and serve)
